The
Flock can be configured to track
from one to four sensors simultaneously
with one or more RS-232 interfaces
to a host computer. Long range
coverage is easily added by
"clicking in" our Extended-Range
Transmitter (ERT/ERC). For high
speed operations, add more RS-232
ports and use our Fast Bird
Bus (FBB).

Three separate transmitter options are available for use with our Flock of
Birds magnetic trackers. Whether
you want to track motions at short,
mid or long range, we have the right
option for you.
Choices run from a small lightweight
transmitter designed for precise,
close-range usage to a powerful
long-range transmitter pair, providing
enough coverage for multiple performers
to be tracked throughout a full-sized
room.
The following chart will help you
choose the right one for your applications.

Set-up & Use:
This small, light-weight
transmitter is often mounted
on an articulated arm that
can be brought close to its
sensors. Especially useful
for high accuracy medical
applications. |
Set-up &
Use:
Our mid-range transmitter
is ideal for desktop applications
in environments containing
conductive metals. |
Set-up &
Use:
One or two ERTs* can be operated
in tandem to provide full
coverage over 10 ft x 15 ft(3
m x 4.5 m) range of operation.
Available with mounting stands. |
|
*Requires customer software modifications
to implement two ERTs.

Flock of Birds is a general-purpose
motion tracker suitable for
many applications. Biomedical
references in this document
are examples of what medical
companies have done with Ascension
trackers after obtaining all
necessary medical certifications.
Ascension trackers are not
