ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC VIRTUAL
REALITY PARTNERSHIP

10, 2004: Ascension is pleased
to announce the formation
of a strategic partnership
with Virtools™,
the world’s leading developer
of 3D interactive software
for industry and games. Virtools
drivers and support are now
available for Ascension motion
trackers.
The companies entered the
partnership to ensure compatibility
between their complementary
hardware and software products.
Virtools’ updated VR Pack
now provides 3D software support
for Ascension’s laserBIRD,
MotionStar, Nest of Birds,
pciBIRD and Flock of Birds.
This means that users of Ascension
trackers can stream motion
files directly into user-friendly
Virtools interactive 3D graphics
programs. Initial applications
include simulation and virtual
reality, as well as video
games and marketing/multimedia.
Using Virtools software, users
can interact in real time
with virtual reality displays
and build rich immersive environments.
Virtools’ 3D software helps
developers of parts and products
reduce time-to-market while
reducing overall production
costs by facilitating dynamic
visualization and modification
of new designs prior to making
models or cutting metal.
